OOTD Throwback: SoHo, New York

In 2018/2019 I was able to experience big city life while living in Manhattan, New York. I would often have fun exploring the city on my own, and of course with my husband. Every few weekends my husband and I would come up with a plan to see different neighbourhoods in Manhattan. Usually to eat at new restaurants, visit the museums, or to go out with friends. One weekend my husband and I were set on visiting SoHo. If you are curious what SoHo means it is an abbreviation for South of Houston Street which is where the SoHo neighbourhood begins. Fun fact if you want to look like a local do not pronounce the ‘Houston’ as if you would for Houston Texas, instead pronounce it like ‘house-ton’.

OOTD Throwback: NYC, The Met & a Floral Dress

I once posted this very look on my now-defunct blog pawprintsandmint and could not resist re-doing this post for a throwback as it documented one of my favourite days captured in New York City. Living in New York had a lot of fun moments, and I am grateful to have been able to live in Manhattan for the experience alone. I am also as equally grateful to not be a permanent resident of the city- because New York keeps its mystery in small doses.

Reviewing Béis’s Convertible Mini Weekender Bag

Hello, Lovelies and Matryoshkas! As an individual who has travelled a lot, and even moved to different countries, I always found myself complaining that I needed a carry-on bag. I cannot believe how long it took me to finally get a proper carry-on/ travel bag. Before I would use an old plaid Roxy bag, then one year I thought utilizing a tote from Madewell would look chic, but it was a disaster to deal with on my move to the U.K.  My items were all over the innards of that bag, and I wished I could have packed far more items than I had.

OOTD: Draped Coats Always Provide Effortless Style

Hello Lovelies, and fellow Matryoshkas! Style is one of the things that we are often working towards perfecting.  Style is not always easy because it can be so overwhelming with all the latest trends. Who doesn’t enjoy having a well-thought-out look to step outside in? Although now, our looks are more on the athleisure side since we only have the grocery store or the occasional zoom call to dress up for. Over the years my style has evolved, and nowadays I often gravitate towards items that have a clean and streamlined look. I choose far more pieces that are devoid of too much detail solely because they are versatile and complete multiple outfit choices.

Fashion Find: Chic For Cheap Elie Tahari Blazer (You’ll Never Guess The Price)

Hey Everyone, this has got to be one of my best Fashion Finds yet! It’s true that I’ve been doing a lot of shopping, and as you know I’m trying to find items to take with me to the Caribbean. Living in Vancouver BC pretty much means that your wardrobe is full of sweaters, and clothing that will keep you warm, or at least dry on rainy days. To say the least my summer wardrobe has been lacking. I’ve been stocking up on loose, basics tee’s, cute colourful dresses, and leggings, shorts, rompers etc- just Anything that will keep me cool and comfy for when I’m there.  Continue reading “Fashion Find: Chic For Cheap Elie Tahari Blazer (You’ll Never Guess The Price)”

Zaychishka Is Going To Montreal

Hey Everyone! I’m having a crazy week! Less than a week ago my boyfriend booked us a surprise trip to..Montreal! I have never been to Montreal, in fact I haven’t been to most of the Provinces or Territories of Canada and I’ve been living in this country my entire life! But, Canadian Provinces are rather large (as opposed to the sizes of Europe countries or American states). As some of you know I live in British Columbia, I’ve been to Alberta (once), and now I’m going to Canada’s East coast to see a bit of Quebec, specifically Montreal..in less than 24 hours. (There is also a cool blogger who lives in Montreal and she is Nikki from the blog Hipster Thrifter Girl shout out to her, and for visiting her turf hehe) Continue reading “Zaychishka Is Going To Montreal”

Story Time! Product Disasters & Swollen Lips

Long time ago when I first became interested in beauty and skin care products, I suffered an allergic reaction. It began the night before High school picture day, and I was determined to look my best! I mean I wanted to look incredible, and have a photo I would be proud of in years to come. Somehow I thought it would be wise to start using an entire fleet of skincare products, combined with natural home remedies with items that came from my refrigerator. I grabbed some papaya, and mixed it with some other ingredients (that I’ve long forgotten, and with good reason), and thought “hey, let me make a home made face mask” that’s a great idea! 3. 2. 1..Happy New Years!!!

Happy New Years to all of you (shout out to the WordPress community), although I’m sure no one will be reading this post until later today since you’re probably out celebrating the new year in style! Tonight I will be with my boyfriend and his family to ring in the new year- and I simply can’t wait! There will be some of the best company, and Russian home cooked food around! So..wow I’m getting distracted hehe, for myself, the new year means that I have to set new goals, break old records, and enjoy every moment fully. I do have some future plans and that will involve a photo shoot with myself, and I will be unveiling what I look like (I’m sure some of you are curious!!), and I have an interesting concept that I have put some thought into that I can’t wait to share!
