To be honest I never knew, or heard of Tinsley Mortimer until a few weeks back when I read an article about her life as a burgeoning socialite, and of how her life took a tragic turn, where she was arrested and well that’s not for this post! This post is all about Tinsley Mortimer’s style, and will be kicking off a series I would love to pursue on the Zaychishka Style blog as a throwback to the socialites of the pasts- mainly about their style. These posts are about the days when the Kardashians weren’t showing off their asses to grapple for our attention, -to a time when Socialites worked on committees, and were noticed for their style.
There was a time when Tinsley Mortimer was considered New York’s sweetheart when her images were everywhere and she was often invited to the elite social parties and galas. A quick google image search depicts her as a socialite who was often photographed for her style, (it even looks like she was addicted to wearing YSL sandals for a time). And often she would be seen sitting front row at fashion shows.
For any of you who don’t already know Chiara Ferragni, Chiara is an Italian style star who is the creative blogger behind the popular blog ‘The Blonde Salad’. Chiara isn’t only a blogger but a fashion designer, a spokesperson for famous clothing brands, and an author. Often she collaborates with designers from Chanel, J Brand, Louis Vuitton, to Dior. Anyways I was browsing Instagram lately and saw a few of her photos rocking some gorgeous lacey, white outfits in Brazil. She’s currently in Brazil for the Louis Vuitton Cruise show and she’s been modelling off some killer summer style. One of the looks she’s been showing off is what I believe to be a bikini? But, it would look just as amazing in the bedroom..so who knows.. maybe we should all start wearing our lingerie to the beach a little more often. Kidding! I’m also adoring her little white dress. What are your thoughts on these looks?
Hey everyone!!! Hope you’re ready for this post especially if you are a fan of Mira Duma! From Mickey Mouse Tee’s to athleisure wear Miroslava Duma is making a comeback with her style. The Russian style icon who we couldn’t resist seeing outside of fashion week all those years ago is making a triumphant return with her youthful style, and appearance lately. She is a woman who has it all she’s a successful businesses woman (Co-Founder Buro247.com, TheTot.com, charity fund Peace Planet, digital investor and entrepreneur) a wife, a mother and has an amazing sense of style.
Privet Matryoshkas! I decided to do some quickstyle Instagram browsing tonight and I just had to check out what’s going on in Elena Perminova’s fashionable world. I feel like her IG pictures have really made up for her Fashion Week Style that in my opinion channeled the 90’s fused with the Matrix Reloaded- and fairytales? Now let’s talk about her incredible bow and pearl earrings. I have no idea who makes them, but I’m definitely swooning at the sight of them. I’m also loving the look she’s pulling off in her black, form fitted dress,- it reminds me of Olga Seryabkina in the Serebro music video for Gun; which I’ve included below! (Olga is one of the singers from my favourite overtly sexual Russian trio, pop groups Serebro)
Stripped down, simple, clean. Those are just a few words that describe Minimalism. This fashion trend has been in circulation since the 80’s, and became more prominent in American fashion during the 90’s. Don’t believe me? Just google Calvin Klein. Let me just say that art and fashion go hand in hand with one another. In art minimalism is defined as a style that uses pared down design elements, well that statement applies to minimalism in fashion also. Which brings me to starting off this post with a basic principle that you’ll need to keep in mind if you want to conquer this style: Less is more.
There are so many trends each season, and this winter there’s no exception. I’m sure some of you have noticed that the Pussy Bow blouse has been a staple since fall. (ahh I hate that name!!) But you’ll also notice there’s a lot of elements in the Pussy Bow blouse this time around that draws from the 80’s, sans shoulder pads. Everyone from Miroslava Duma to Olivia Palermo have been pulling off the look. What makes this blouse so appealing, (& it’s definitely not the name choice) is the soft, and ethereal romantic feel it can have. I love the look of satin or silk with the bow style, and I really favour the type of blouse that has a loose fitted neckline, Like Mira Duma’s in the image below.
That being said, I also came up with a look of my own that uses a lot of Burgundy, And as promised this is one of the Holiday inspired looks I came up with. I think this look would work best for an interview, or if you’re going out with your girlfriends, and you’re feeling like one of the Ladies of London. This look is prim! To spice it up further, pair it with a leather jacket. Anyways I hope you enjoy the inspiration 🙂
This look is dedicated to my best friend who is addicted to Turkish soap operas. She tries to get me to watch these shows, but it’s bad enough that I watch Russian soap operas, K-Drama’s, & even..Days Of Our Lives (who doesn’t love Kristian Alfonso/ Fancy Face?). Now that I’ve divulged some of my guilty TV pleasures, let’s move on and forget that I ever typed that. You see my best friend happens to obsess over Beren Saat’s onscreen style, and if she could she would wear the infamous Tuxedo dress in the Turkish drama Intikam (aka revenge- and yes there is an american version of this drama). The dress was designed by Elif Cigizoglu.
Do you remember when Miroslava Duma would wear a good, statement necklace. The thicker, the chunkier, the more detail, the better. These days however, Mira’s style is “toned down”.Her neckline is devoid of necklaces, her handbags are often black, and her accessories are basic. She’s different. Then again she is dressing the part of a business woman, a woman who works hard to accomplish her goals. But, just because Miroslava Duma is toning it down, doesn’t mean the statement necklace has fallen out of favour, and if you have an outfit that needs something, but you aren’t sure what it is. Perhaps a statement necklace is all you need this winter.
