Reviewing the Ugg Keely Boots (Similar to the Bailey Button, but for less!)

When Uggs became popular in North America in the mid 2000’s every store had its own knock-off version. My mom ended up buying me a knock off pair from Sears outlet because I begged her. At the time I had not even seen a real pair of Uggs in person, you would have to go Downtown Vancouver on Robson street or so to buy the authentic ones if they were not sold out. But, somehow with my little knowledge of what the actual boot should or even would look like I happily wore my knockoffs to school. As a teen, I would often pair these ‘Uggs’ with a skirt and wear this as a staple look for one entire summer, which was how long they held up. Those boots did not last at all, and my mom had to throw them away. After that, my desire for Uggs faded away and in came other fads for me to squander my one-day-a-week job after-school earnings on.

Are Sorel’s Caribou Boots Good ?

I have been a west coaster for the majority of my life as I’m originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Would it surprise you if I said I come from an area that sees more rainy days than snowy ones? However, last year the GVRD actually accumulated enough snow to make me reconsider my winter boot game. My favourite pair of boots from Roots had seen better days, and being a dog-mom to a high energy ‘coconut retriever’ named Bear (who needs lengthy walkies) I began my search for new winter boots.

Zaychishka 2.0

Hello Lovelies, or should I be saying Matryoshkas, it’s been a while and I must apologize for my lengthy hiatus . The Zaychishka blog was, and still is a great source of pride for me and I just couldn’t forget about it even after years (yes you read that right) of no longer posting or maintaining it’s website. I’ve had a lot of interesting life updates, and have recently moved again for the 5th or maybe it’s the 6th time! My last move had me living in Manhattan, New York; and now I’m living in Pennsylvania, and it feels soo good to no longer be living that luggage lifestyle- more on that later!

Meet Our Newly Adopted Puppy!

Hello Lovelies, how have all of you been lately? As some of you might know by now from my instagram photos, my Fiance and I have adopted a puppy! Our puppy has been keeping my hands full with training, playtime and the dreaded cleanup of toys and crumbs from kibble. But before I go on and on, let me bring this story all the way back to the beginning. I have a dog back home in Canada who I adopted from the States, and currently lives with my parents- and may I add, is spoiled rotten. I had no intentions of adopting a dog, or thinking of caring for, or training a puppy while staying in the Caribbean. It was not something I thought I would do anytime soon with my Fiance. But one day a few of my friends took me down to SXM Paws to walk the dogs and puppies in the shelter, and I ended up walking a puppy (however this puppy was not the one we would adopt). I’m not sure what happened but I became obsessed with ‘puppies’ I had puppy fever, constantly looking through the photos of all the puppies SXM Paws had up for adoption and foster. Fashion Find: Chic For Cheap Elie Tahari Blazer (You’ll Never Guess The Price)

Hey Everyone, this has got to be one of my best Fashion Finds yet! It’s true that I’ve been doing a lot of shopping, and as you know I’m trying to find items to take with me to the Caribbean. Living in Vancouver BC pretty much means that your wardrobe is full of sweaters, and clothing that will keep you warm, or at least dry on rainy days. To say the least my summer wardrobe has been lacking. I’ve been stocking up on loose, basics tee’s, cute colourful dresses, and leggings, shorts, rompers etc- just Anything that will keep me cool and comfy for when I’m there.  Continue reading “Fashion Find: Chic For Cheap Elie Tahari Blazer (You’ll Never Guess The Price)”

Fashion Find: $15 Maxi Dress

Hey Everyone! What I love about this time of year is that summer clothing starts to go on sale, that’s right the summer hasn’t ended..but you can snag some gorgeous pieces for enticing prices. Today I decided to venture off to Homesense/ Winners. Canadians know the deal with this place, but if you’re unfamiliar with Homesense & Winners..think of it like a Marshalls, or TJ Max (which it’s under the TJ Max group). Anyways I love to go to this store for my face washes, and moisturizers because sometimes if you look extra hard you can walk away with great products, for cheap. I’m stocking up on items for the Caribbean so this is the place to go. Now, I spotted a long, white Maxi dress with some embroidered detail, and guess what it happened to be on sale for $15, from $50. The dress is by the brand Japna, and is handmade in India. Just Another Zaychishka Update

Hey Everyone, I want to make a crazy announcement! Currently I’m shopping, and planning what to take with me to the Caribbean! That’s right, your favourite blogger  Zaychishka is all about that jet-set life! Hahah. Jokes aside I’m not going for a vacation, and I’m not going for work either! I’m going with my Fiance who has been accepted into Medical School, and I will be his support system. I may dabble in freelance writing for online publications, while maintaining the Zaychishka Style blog..so I will be keeping myself busy while exploring the Island. So I hope you will enjoy all of the adventures I will be taking you on, and get ready to see some of that Caribbean life with me. Continue reading “Just Another Zaychishka Update”

Tour Montreal With Me

Hey Lovelies! Visiting Montreal went by too fast, and Im actually missing this city! When we had landed in Pierre Trudeau Airport and began our journey to our hotel I actually found Montreal to be an ugly place. I saw a lot of industrial sights, and massive concrete overpasses that marred the landscape. However, my first impressions changed once we ended up in the area of Sherbrooke street where our Hotel was situated. (I think this is considered the business section of town) and it’s a perfect place to be if you enjoy walking, and exploring the city on foot. This area is nearby to McGill University, and not too far away from Notre Dame Cathedral, as well as places to sit down and eat along the way. Enjoy! Continue reading “Tour Montreal With Me”

He Proposed In Montreal!

Hey Everyone! Wow, OH MY GOSH! First off I am back from my trip to Montreal, and I’m still in a state of shock that makes me feel as if I’m still in a dream. I can’t believe how big Montreal really is, and what an incredible and gorgeous city it is. Montreal puts Vancouver to shame! This trip was one that allowed for little sleep, lots of socializing, eating, too much drinking and partying the nights away. I will always hold Montreal in my heart for it is now a special city to me because it’s where my boyfriend (now Fiance) proposed to me. I had no idea he had been planning to propose, and that he had picked out a ring for me. I will also tell you that I’m happy to be engaged to such an incredible, and tres romantic man.

Anyways After he proposed ( his brother captured the entire proposal on film!) we went out for a celebratory dinner by ordering a 5 course A La Carte meal with wine pairings at the restaurant called Accords in Montreal.
