Hey Everyone! I never knew purple shampoos existed until I began seeing articles, and vloggers discussing the perils of having blonde hair turn brassy. Well being a brunette made me ignore a lot of those articles, and video blogs up until I had my hair dyed ‘balayage’. My hair became significantly lighter, and blonder (that my family began calling me ‘blondie’..
Thank you to Nikki from The fabulous Hipster Thrifter Fashion Blog for sending me this beauty blogger nomination. Let’s be honest here we all will age and we all will get wrinkles at some point in our life; However what this post is about is making sure you don’t age prematurely, or look older than your actual age! As women (and even some men!!) we have the tendency to be beauty obsessed. From almost every which way we look there’s something that pops out at us and screams ‘beauty’, or you must try or have this product! Just look at your YouTube subscriptions I’m sure the majority of you have your favorite beauty Guru, and I know that at some point these beauty gurus have mentioned in their videos about anti-aging products and tips that you couldn’t resist watching! I think it’s safe to say that most of us want to look as if we found the fountain of youth as we age. I also know that a lot us want to age well so that we don’t have our peers exclaim ‘oh she’s aged badly’… Well, at least I don’t! #notsorryformyvainconfession. Anyways here are some of my tips and tricks I’ve learned along the way. I hope this post will help you too!
Hey everyone! This is a short & sweet post that includes a few beauty hacks that could help you out! I was reading through H&M life under the beauty section and came across beauty hacks that can fix your makeup products. I know I’ve dropped my blush and powders more times than I can count, and I thought these tips featured on H&M Life could be useful to you- if you’ve got powder/blush broken into what seems like billions of pieces, or your lipstick is cracked in half, or maybe your nail polish is being stubborn and won’t open! (like using a lighter to fuse the lipstick back together, or placing nail polish into a bowl of water)
Hello lovelies. It wasn’t all that long ago when I dedicated a post to 11 tips for restoring your hairs health before colouring/bleaching. I thought I was going to wait one more month, or two before committing to Bayalage, but I couldn’t stop thinking about having a new colour to rock on my head for the warmer weather. It was time for a change! I love that hair is our greatest, natural accessory that we can change with ease. We can change the colour, style, cut, add extensions to alter length, or enhance volume- which I know a lot of you, (myself included) can’t live without volume. & if we don’t feel like changing our hair with something a little more permanent/drastic, there’s always wigs.
Privet Everyone! Currently I’m in the process of healing my hair because I want to have it balayaged for the summer time. I know it’s barely April, and we’ve hardly enjoyed the spring, and here I am making plans in advance for the summer. Plans for my hair. I always browse through instagram for inspiration, and ideas for what I’d love to try out next for my hair. I always see girls with that long, lustrous hair that shines even after they’ve bleached it; often seen on Guy Tangs pages, or wherever else! I also hear people complain about how damaging bleach is to their hair! And that they come out of the hair dressers with this dull looking hair, that is completely fried and well trashed. This is something I don’t want for my hair, or for anyone elses. Our hair is a source of pride, and just by having your hair coloured, or styled a certain way it can truly transform your look.
2016 is the year of the lip and as much as I hate to say this name (I’m trying to keep my blog a Kardashians/ Jenner free zone for the most part) but Kylie Jenner inspired pouts are still in. It seems like the media just loves to throw out the name “Kylie Jenner” whenever a new celebrity is seen with fuller lips/injections. The latest example: Hailey Baldwin now has “Kylie Jenner level huge lips”. Gone are the days of throwing out Angelina Jolie’s name whenever an enlarged lip is spotted! Lips are one of the facial features that can draw someone in, like your significant other.
I’ve never been that girl who owned a lot of makeup, or put on a full face each day. Moisturizers, and other skin care products have always been my main priority, then makeup would follow. My usual face routine just involves a little concealer to my under eyes, and any little red spots. I then set my face with a subtle amount of powder, and a swipe of pink blush. For eyes, I use a bright, light reflecting eye shadow over the lid, and a hint of a dark brown shadow in the crease to give my eyes more dimension. Plus that swipe of mascara . As for lips chap stick is my HG, and sometimes a bold lipstick.
Privet! Some of you may remember my post on my Russian remy human hair extensions that I had bleached to an ash/platinum blonde. Well I decided to DIY colour match them to my own hair colour because I want this hair to look as real as possible for next weekend’s wedding, without an extra trip to the salon.
Let me just say that I spent hours researching the process of transitioning platinum blonde extensions into a light ash brown. I also tested the process out on a single weft of hair ( you could also do a strand test) I wanted to avoid colour mishaps, while eliminating the possibility of throwing out perfectly good hair extensions. I needed this to turn out!! What I’ve learned was that there are a few things to keep in mind when transitioning from one hair colour into another. Platinum blonde hair for example has a silver tone, as it lacks both red, and golden tones. So when you want to make Platinum blonde turn into a natural, light ash brown, you need to replace the red tones before you can use box dye that is ash brown.
“Simplicity is key when it comes to packing luggage like a pro, but what can sabotage your packing is that little problem of choosing which pieces from your wardrobe are worthy enough to make the cut. It’s not like you can bring your entire closet, but there are a few hacks to make you look like you did, so you can remain your sartorial best in Paris, to even the Maldives (psst the Maldives is a favourite amongst the Russian jet-set).
Many of us know that Miroslava Duma is the founder of Buro 24/7, and that she’s known to those of us who are fashion-crazed for her tantalizing street style. When the Russian it girl is not attending Fashion Week in Milan, Paris or New York, she’s hopping a plane to a new destination due to the popularity of her online publication Buro 24/7 that has exploded internationally. Now All of this leaves me wondering how Miroslava Duma manages to stay fresh faced, and always stylish, and what some of her best tips for travel are.
