Hey Everyone! I hope you are all having a wonderful week! Well I’ve been going out for coffee a lot lately, and one of my go to looks for enjoying coffee involves ‘athlesiure wear’. No it doesn’t involve lululemon yoga pants, or wearing sports bras instead of a cropped top (although I love my neon nike sports bra). Instead I love to mix and match different things from my wardrobe that involve faux leather sleeves, shift dresses, pantyhose, leggings and runners. I also should confess that I love grays and blacks…I sometimes have an obsession with buying all gray pieces and then end up complaining in the summer that my clothing isn’t ‘colourful’ enough. Who else has the same problem? Anyways it might be summer at the moment but this week in British columbia I’ve had to turn the heat on in my house, the next day the AC, and well the weather is rather unpredictable with it’s mix of hot and cool. So before I officially say goodbye to fall and winter wardrobe pieces …
There was a morning when the word deconstructed popped into my mind, followed by the word beauty. I wasn’t aware of Jacques Derrida’s work of Grammatology (1967) that introduced the ideas of deconstruction. And I certainly wasn’t aware that deconstruction could be used to describe a critical outlook between text and meaning. In that moment, in the morning I was only thinking of two words that flowed into larger thoughts, with images of an alleyway, coldness, walls with rust, texture, and of graffiti.
I’m pretty obsessed with making polyvore collages..and for the month of December i’m going to be posting outfit ideas to inspire you for all occasions! Including a post dedicated to styles that look great for dinner with your significant others parents- to lounging at home. But today’s post is dedicated to a look that is glammy, sexy and one that you can have a lot of fun with. & I know I’m early..but this look was too fun to create and well, here it is! Enjoy New Years is that night when you get to be all glammed up, strutting through the streets in your stilettos, with a belly full of either good food, alcohol or a combination of both. As far as NYE style goes I love a look that has white, Or something over the top with feathers, or some type of embellishment that screams.. This is my year! But I also love to stick to the classics with outfits that have a bit of streamlined shine, e.g. Metallics.
She’s tiny, and fragile in appearance and has had her fair share of ballet, but Sasha Luss never was the type who played with barbies, and never dreamed of becoming a model in her childhood. The Russian model’s career began in 2007 but it was the 2013-14 season that truly took her career to the next level. In the 2013-14 season Sasha Luss began her first big season on the runway for the Paris Haute Couture scene, and opened runway shows for No. 21, vera Wang, Emilio Pucci , and Alberta Ferretti.
It has been ages since I’ve last worked on a Casual Sunday post featuring Russia, and the Ukraine’s best dressed! So to revive Casual Sunday, I’m starting off with a look worn by my style crush, Elena Perminova! During Paris Fashion Week the streets are filled with women who are wearing beautiful ensembles, and yes some opt to wear questionable outfits that only make sense for the intended purpose of street style entertainment.
I’m obsessed with this outfit- it’s simple, works well for both fall and winter, plus it’s perfect for pairing with boots- (a must have for winter footwear). Elena clearly loves pairing almost any designer brand with items from H&M- here she is pairing a chunky H&M sweater with a skirt by Versace.
Privet!! NYE is the perfect excuse to get Matryoshka’d up, and leave those around you with a lasting impression from one year and into the next. Makeup can complete your perfect NYE look, but sometimes it’s hard to choose what side of yourself to show off for the night: your sexy vixen side, the glamour girl or perhaps you want to be classy & chic- the point is the looks are endless.
