I feel as if I haven’t made a post about Elena Perminova in ages, and I’m sure some of you might be missing her style moments around here. The Russian trendsetter, and mom of three isn’t one to play around with hairstyle or makeup, you’ll notice that her hair is always done in a simple manner, or that her makeup is minimalistic, anddd I think she does this because she likes to let her outfits speak for themselves. I, on the other hand would want to be playing with my hair and makeup for each look, just because it’s fun to be able to change your looks, especially when you’re wearing gorgeous clothes. Anyways that’s enough of my opinion! Enjoy the post, you’ll see some style that varies from Christian Dior, to Elie Saab.
What do we look for in designer fashion labels? Is it their relevance, or the way they make a statement? When fashion week rolls around, the concrete catwalk is almost as equally as important as the runway. The streets set the trends. The quirky, and vibrant outfits of the risk takers are flaunted in our faces, while the style makers will be setting trends that so many of us will be inspired from, and interpret. It’s no secret that there’s just a few brands out there that continue to roll out those hot list items that we continue to crave. These top 10 brands know how to market love at first sight, and they definitely know how to slay.
There is so much on the internet dedicated to shoe porn reminding us that we each have a Carrie Bradshaw hidden within us, and some of us like to live by Marilyn Monoroe’s famous saying of “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world”. It’s hard to understand how shoes of all things can have such an impact on us. Men even get sucked into the allure of high heels, and they love their women in them. It’s just something so strange, but something we love, and want more of. It’s also perfectly acceptable to believe that there is no such thing as owning too many pairs of shoes. So matryoshkas today’s post will involve a little bit of the Italian in me, starting with a gift my mother gave to me recently and that is a pair of Italian designed shoes, by Valentino Garavani. If you’ve seen my instagram account lately then you already know that I now have Valentino Rockstud fever!!
Paris Fashion Week is over and the Czarina’s will probably be flocking elsewhere soon to show off more sartorial outfits on the concrete catwalk- Now before I disscuss Fashion Week scheduling dates, let’s disscuss the remainder of Elena Perminova’s looks from Paris Fashion Week (Haute Couture). The blonde who has mile long legs hit up the Couture events wearing Armani Privé, Valentino
The Czarina often surprises me with her love for mixing and matching high and low end fashion, curating outfits I often want for myself. Here are four looks (technically 3 with the removal of a hat) where Elena shows off a casual side in outfits, finding themselves not far from the grey, and blue colour palette. Blue must be her favourite colour.
I’m a sucker for holiday festivities and decorations- and Tsum seems to be spreading some of the christmas cheer with both! The famous department store fully prepared itself for the arrival of Christmas by having Santa visit the store, a children’s christmas tree, gift wrapping stations and other kid friendly activities. Here are the photo’s of what Tsum has morphed into during this special time of year!
Ballet has never reminded me of warmer seasons; seasons where flowers are in bloom, to nights when the heat makes it impossible to fall asleep. Ballet simply suits the mood of winter, when the ground is covered by frost, or thick blankets of fresh snow. Perhaps the ethereal white of the ballerina’s costume projects a look I perceive as cold, perhaps that’s my reason for a ballerina-winter association. Anyway, Vogue Russia featured a spread titled “Ballet & Drama”
