The summer of 2015 had kicked off the return of the ‘crocs’ that tied into that whole normcore trend, amid other ugly footwear abominations. This summer the ugly shoe is making a stronger return, and it’s the unfashionable that is now becoming fashionable at least when the shoe world is concerned. Que the Birkenstock movement, But not only are Birkenstocks paving the way for uglier than usual shoe trends, it’s the fact that people don’t want to shell out big bucks for summer sandal. And who can blame a person for not wanting to spend a lot of cash on a seasonal favourite. And, although I love to save money and buy everything on sale..you still will not catch me in a pair of crocs, clogs, lucite heels or even boudoir mules. Clarks? forget it, I’ll stick to my summer favourite my Zigi Soho caged sandals..until they need to be retired to the trash bin. Comfort is also another alluring factor to these sole creations..making it easy to see why they are so popular. (However Birkenstocks aren’t cheap either at 100 a pop, but still entice those who are used to spending 1200+ on sandals)
Hey Everyone! Sorry for my mini absence from the blog-o-sphere, I’m back and ready to blog. Let’s begin with a Trending Tuesday post! There is one “trend” that is my absolute favourite to wear and style when the climate begins to soar and the sunshine is in abundance. Ahem, that is wearing white in the summer. I used to hear stories about how in Europe there would be ‘summer of white parties’ where everyone wears white clothing, and parties until dawn. If I give it some serious thought, I too wore white during my European travels. I had one dress in particular that could transform amidst the scenery and landscapes of Vienna, Rome, and throughout the cities of Greece, yielding some of my favourite pictures. So, maybe wearing white in the summer holds a bit of nostalgia in my mind, and I’m being a little biased towards this hot, and always a favourite summer trend. Well that and I recently bought a new dress for the summer that is in this trendy shade, it’s lacey with a slip underneath..which means it could probably even serve as a beach cover up.
Sinister, vampire-esque, lady of the night; dark Lips embody edge, and a supernatural factor. When I think of Dark Lips, I can’t help but think of Hannah Beth. Do any of you know, or remember Hannah Beth? Okay, let me tell you a quick story. There was this one time when I watched a full season of House of DVF. It’s a reality show about Diane Von Furstenburg, where she has to weed out the perfect brand ambassador amongst a bunch of girls, all vying for the opportunity. Each week they complete tasks, etc to impress Diane. Well Hannah Beth won and became the DVF brand ambassador. And, Hannah was notorious for wearing a bold, dark lip! So now whenever I think of dark lipsticks, and shades, well now you know why I think of her! Anyways, Three runway shows in particular have used dark lipsticks at LFW, and when 3 shows are doing something similar, it’s a trend. And I won’t stop there I’ll also talk about how you can perfect this lip trend for yourself.
