Bonjour! Oui oui! Comment ça va?? Paris Fashion Week kicks off today and will end on March 9th! I don’t want any of you to feel sad about all of the Fall/Winter 2016 Fashion Weeks wrapping up across the globe. So I thought instead of only reporting about the runway, the street style, and models, I thought you’d love to have a post dedicated to 10 facts about Paris Fashion Week; After all it is the home of fashion, the place that started it all, and the grand finale! P.S fact #9 is my favourite.
“Hey everyone! I’m in a mood where I want to rant, and get some of your opinions, thoughts, comments, likes or dislikes about celebrities crossing over into the fashion world. There is this hollywood element that keeps popping up during fashion week, and it sort of bothers me. Let me first just say that I know people like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Bridgett Bardot were celebrities who have gone on to be the inspiration for countless fashion designers. We find their style to be timeless, classic and elegant. So it makes sense that fashion and celebrities have always been a part of each others world.
Miroslava Duma was notorious for wearing statement necklaces, the bigger the better- and those jewels always suited her. But the days of the statement necklace seem to have faded, being replaced by accessories that add to her newly evolved mature, & business chic style. The Russian style star always pulls off effortless style, even amid weeks of non-stop travel. She’s been busy expanding her fashion empire, + kick starting Buro 24/7’s Fashion Forward Initiative showcasing young talent from across Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. (Plus visiting Mongolia, Turkey, and countless other countries). In addition to all of that she’s been spotted in San Fransisco for the VFS summit. Oh and did I mention she did Paris Fashion Week- Cap à pie sans flaws. Anyways, this post is dedicated to Mira’s latest style, and what she has been wearing.
Privet, and happy casual sunday Matryoshkas! This Casual Sunday post is all about a yellow, you know that colour we associate with the ripest of lemons, the warmth of the sunshine, optimism and of happiness. Yellow is one of spring 2015’s hottest colours, and it’s also one of the best ways to add punch to any outfit.
Privet Matryoshka’s today I’ve decided to put up a post about one of Anya Ziourova’s looks! I know I rarely pay much attention to Anya, but I found her look intriguing since she’s wearing a bird cage veil. I’m not a fan of these types of veils, but it works well with Anya’s outfit. What I am a fan of is grey garments (and in this case two types of grey on grey) for some odd reason. I’m hoping to shake up my fall wardrobe and add some hints of colour, or even throw on my yellow coat with pockets by Zara from time to time. Anyways back to Anya’s look, she wore this recently at Paris Fashion Week to the Dior fashion show, of course the outfit is by Dior too.
Ulyana Sergeenko’s Fall-Winter 2014 collection is opening the doorway to Russia’s past of coups and revolutions, from the first quarter of the 20th century. Audiences at Paris Fashion Week will be shown into Ulyana’s world of Russian avant-garde, with anticipation as her last collection featuring elements from her childhood spent in Kazahkastan and Central Asia will still be on their minds.
Privet!! I’m in the mood for style that doesn’t fit the definition of ‘ordinary’. Today’s Throwback Thursday post is all about a particular street style look from the Ukrainian model Mila Krasnoiarova. I’m dubbing this look ‘Félin Sauvage- aka french for cool cat’, It’s her features, and makeup that appear so fierce, and so catty.
Privet Matryoshka’s Casual Sunday time has rolled around once again!! Today’s Casual Sunday post is for those who love a lifestyle near the sea, & ultimately for those of you who just enjoy those romantic summer walks along the shoreline, and want a classic sea style inspired look. I’m sure you can guess what the theme is- and I’m even in a Nautical mood 😉 Anyways there are two versions of a look that uses stripes if you’re obsessed with today’s Casual post on all things Nautical. To offer you some inspiration here are two different looks worn by the Russian it girl who always makes it onto the style radar: Miroslava Duma.
I love Hilfiger’s collection sure he’s by no means a Russian or Ukrainian fashion designer; but one of the items from his mountain escape (fall/winter 2014) collection found itself on our it girl, Miroslava Duma. Mira wore the poncho out for Paris
Privet Matryoshka’s Paris Fashion Week is lashing out with a vengeance- it’s everywhere!! Guests who attended Ulyana Sergeenko’s couture show on January 21st, 2014, watched models walk a runway that took the form of a sleeper car; that one might see on a train. The Russian Designer’s Spring-Summer 2014 collection told guests a story, and reflected the culture, and nature of three former Soviet Republics: Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
