Alexander Terekhov’s latest look book for Autumn Winter 2014 is entertaining my thoughts of fierce females out on the hunt, seducing their prey, and ultimately luring them into a salacious trap. What man could ever resist a female who knows what she wants when she’s in feline mode?
Well Terekhov fans you might not be able to recognize the latest Autumn Winter 2014(15) look book pieces! The Russian designer who is renowned for working around the theme of luxe minimalism has strayed far from his roots- the clothing and photography alone DOES NOT look like Terekhov’s previous work- and I’m stunned. The look book features a model with a sultry look to her, wearing fashions most controversial print; Leopard. For as long as anyone can remember this very print was reserved for the regal and wealthy, later making its way out and into the mainstream. Is it tacky or luxurious? And why is it revived so often- somehow we can’t shake our primal ways; Leopard print regardless of the faux paux moments (or negative attention) it attracts from time to time- you cannot deny its timeless sex appeal and danger.
But to be honest, looking through all of these images for the A/W 2014 look book….I find this collection to be luxurious, perhaps it’s that combination of blown out hair, bold colours+ prints and the sultry nature of that model. Farewell Minimalism (for now).
Oh those lips and lids…sorry…I will now go back and look at the clothing. xo-Ret
